Dungannon Stangmore Roundabout Resurfacing Begins with March Closures
A £380,000 resurfacing project at Stangmore Roundabout on the A29 outside Dungannon begins on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins announced the scheme, which covers structural patching and full resurfacing of the junction plus short off-slip sections to Moy and Dungannon.
Work occurs over weekends and nights in March to limit daytime disruption. The roundabout closes fully to through traffic during these periods, with signed diversions in place. It stays open all day on St Patrick's Day, March 17, 2026.
Diversions route Dungannon to M1 or Moy traffic via A29 Moy Road, B517 Far Circular Road, B34 Killyman Road, B106 Trewmount Road, A29 Dungannon Road, Drumgannon Road, and Moy Road. Westbound M1 traffic to Dungannon diverts at Tamnamore Roundabout onto B34 Tamnamore Road, B34 Killyman Road, B517 Far Circular Road, and A29 Moy Road.
Eastbound A4 traffic to Dungannon diverts at Granville via A45 Granville Road and A45 Ballygawley Road. The Department for Infrastructure plans operations to maintain local access where possible.
Kimmins stated the investment aids Dungannon residents and drivers by enhancing the road network that links businesses and communities. She requested patience from road users during the work.
Motorists face delays and must allow extra travel time near the site while following restrictions. Completion targets Friday, March 28, 2026, if weather permits. Updates appear on Trafficwatchni.
