£650,000 Upgrade Begins on Ecclesville Road near Fintona
A £650,000 road upgrade project started on the Ecclesville Road at Murley Mountain, Fintona. Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins confirmed the work targets a 2.2km section of the B122, from the U1232 Corbally Road junction to the Ballyness Road junction.
The scheme includes structural patching, carriageway resurfacing, and drainage improvements. Kimmins said the investment on the Fintona to Fivemiletown route benefits residents, road users, businesses, and communities.
A closure operates on Ecclesville Road between Aghafad Road and Ballyness Road. It runs Monday to Friday, 9am to 4.30pm, for four weeks from the start date.
Signed diversions direct traffic via Ecclesville Road, Aghafad Road, Fintona Road, A4 Ballagh Road, and A4 Edfield Way in Fivemiletown. Local access, Translink buses, and school services continue.
The Department plans traffic management to limit disruption but advises extra journey time. Completion is set for Friday 3 April 2026, subject to weather. Schedule updates will follow as needed.
