firmus Energy will lower its regulated gas tariffs by 10.10% for domestic and small business customers in the Ten Towns gas network area. The reduction takes effect on 1 April 2026.

A typical household on a credit meter will save about £94 on its annual gas bill. Prepayment meter users will see yearly costs drop by roughly £92.

The change affects 75,000 customers in the region. It comes after an 8.47% tariff cut in October 2025.

firmus Energy plans to announce tariff adjustments for the Greater Belfast Network area soon.

Karen Smyth, Director of Infrastructure and Sustainability at the Consumer Council, welcomed the decrease. She pointed out that energy prices exceed pre-pandemic levels amid volatile markets driven by global geopolitical issues.

Smyth stated that the Consumer Council collaborates with the Utility Regulator and suppliers to pass cost savings to consumers promptly. The council also assists during price rises.

She advised customers facing payment difficulties to contact their supplier for support. The Consumer Council offers energy efficiency and financial aid resources on its website.
