Bangor Mother Runs Daily Half Marathons for Local School Record Attempt
Laura Christmann, a mother from Bangor in County Down, has completed 33 half marathons over 33 successive days. Each run covers 13.1 miles. She started on January 30 and plans to run 61 half marathons to surpass the existing world record of 60 days.
Christmann raises money for Killard House School in County Down. The funds support sports and family events during the summer term. She has collected over £1,632 so far. Her eight-year-old daughter Luna attends the school, which assists children with complex needs including autism.
Christmann manages the runs around school drop-offs for her children, including five-year-old Ben. She completes each half marathon in under one hour and 50 minutes. The runs take place in the Bangor Aurora area, where community members offer encouragement.
Christmann first ran the Belfast marathon for the school. She chose daily half marathons for greater endurance challenge. She seeks additional sponsorship to match donations for the school.
