Developers have submitted plans to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for 78 new homes in Lurgan. The site lies southeast of Silverwood Avenue and north of the Belfast-to-Dublin railway line. The land is currently an agricultural field.

D Gilmore Developments Ltd, based in Lurgan, lodged the application after a pre-application event last year. The project falls into the major development category due to its scale.

The homes consist of 38 detached and 40 semi-detached units. They include 40 three-bedroom and 38 four-bedroom properties.

The site will feature 74 detached garages and 219 parking spaces. Infrastructure covers landscaping with hedges and planting, plus open space.

A children's play area forms part of the proposals. The council will advertise the plans shortly.
