Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council is inviting residents to view design concepts for the redevelopment of two community centres in Lurgan.

A £2.5 million investment will fund the full rebuild of Mourneview Community Centre and the refurbishment and extension of North Lurgan Community Centre.

The council appointed Collins-Rolston as the independent design team, and the projects are now in the design development stage.

Two public engagement events will take place, allowing people to view the designs, speak with project team members, and provide feedback.

Lord Mayor Mary O’Dowd said the investment represents a significant commitment to community provision in Lurgan. She encouraged anyone with an interest in the facilities to attend an engagement event.

The projects were approved by the council in December 2024. A project board has been established to oversee progression.

The current programme anticipates planning and design development during 2026-27, followed by planning approval, technical design and procurement before construction. Completion is expected in 2028-29.

Feedback received during the engagement will be considered as designs develop. After the events, plans will also be available at Lurgan Town Hall.
