D Gilmore Developments Ltd has submitted plans to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for 78 homes on an agricultural field southeast of Silverwood Avenue and north of the Belfast-to-Dublin railway line in Lurgan.

The plans cover 38 detached houses and 40 semi-detached houses, including 40 three-bedroom units and 38 four-bedroom units.

The site includes 74 detached garages and 219 parking spaces.

Developers propose a children's play area, open spaces, landscaping with hedges and planting, and infrastructure upgrades.

The project counts as a major development. A pre-application event occurred last year before the submission.

The council plans to advertise the proposals soon.
