An age discrimination claim brought by Diana Carson against Western Health and Social Care Trust and three other health-related bodies has been struck out by an industrial tribunal.

The case, heard at the Industrial Tribunals in Northern Ireland, was dismissed because the claimant failed to actively pursue the proceedings.

The respondents named in the case were Western Health and Social Care Trust, the Department of Finance, the Department of Health, and the HSC Pension Service.

The claim was made on the grounds of age discrimination, but no further details of the allegations were given in the published judgment.

Employment Judge Kelly issued a short judgment confirming the strike out on 16 October 2025, with the decision issued to the parties on 28 October 2026.

The tribunal did not make any findings on the substantive allegations of discrimination.
