A new flood alleviation scheme is due to begin in the Ballycolman Estate area of Strabane. The project includes a new carriageway drainage system, a storm water storage facility and resurfacing of flood-prone roads.

Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins said the £790,000 investment demonstrates a commitment to improving the road network and developing a more resilient drainage system to protect homes and infrastructure from flooding. She thanked residents, businesses and commuters for their patience.

The work will require road and lane closures. The Department for Infrastructure will programme operations to minimise inconvenience, but delays are expected. Road users are asked to comply with temporary traffic restrictions and allow extra time.

Subject to weather conditions, the work is expected to be substantially complete by 31 March 2027.
