The Gold Ring Ceili Band, a traditional music group from Markethill in Armagh, is marking its 40th anniversary this year. Formed in 1986, the band has performed regularly in Fermanagh and across Ireland, playing for ceili and set dancing, as well as at festivals, events, and weddings.

A celebration is planned for Thursday at 8pm in the Armagh City Hotel. Current and former band members are expected to attend, and a new 15-track album titled 'Dancefloors & Potholes' will be launched.

The band has encouraged anyone who has danced to their music or had them play at an event to join the celebration.
