ABC Council has appointed a consultancy team to begin design work on public realm improvements in Lurgan town centre.

The Department for Communities and ABC Council are jointly funding the Lurgan Linkages project with nearly £500,000 over two years.

GM Design Associates will lead design from concept to planning submissions, with the first phase focused on Blacks Court.

The project aims to improve pedestrian links, lighting, and access between key town areas while meeting a construction deadline of March 2026.

Separately, ABC Council will begin resurfacing several synthetic sports pitches and multi-use games areas later this year.

The £2 million programme covers Lurgan Park tennis courts, North Lurgan MUGA, and facilities in Craigavon and Portadown.

Deputy Lord Mayor Councillor Jessica Johnston said the investment supports local clubs and community activity.
