A woman in her 30s has been charged with disorderly behaviour after bottles were allegedly thrown at a number of youths in Derry city centre on Thursday evening.

Police received a report of disorderly behaviour in the Foyle Street area shortly after 6pm on August 27. It was reported that a woman was acting aggressively and throwing bottles at youths in the area.

Officers attended and arrested a woman in her 30s on suspicion of disorderly behaviour. She has since been charged and is expected to appear at Derry Magistrates Court on Friday August 28.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

In a separate incident, a teenager has been cautioned after police seized an e-scooter being used illegally on Strand Road in Derry.

The teenager was seen travelling along a footpath shortly after 11pm. He was stopped by officers and cautioned for having no licence or insurance for the vehicle.

The e-scooter was seized and the male will be reported to the Public Prosecution Service.
