Police in Derry seized two e-scooters as part of efforts by City Centre and Ballyarnett Neighbourhood Policing teams to address illegal use.

Users of the seized e-scooters face potential prosecution. The PSNI noted numerous reports of anti-social behaviour linked to e-scooters, especially by young people in communities.

E-scooters count as vehicles under law and require a licence and insurance for roads or public places. Breaches lead to prosecution, fixed penalty notices or seizures.

Police highlighted risks of serious and fatal injuries from e-scooters. They urged parents to monitor their children's use.

The seizures occurred in Derry, within the londonderry region.
