A new mobility equipment business has opened in Maydown, Derry, offering stairlifts, wheelchairs, and powered wheelchairs.

Stairlift Solutions held a launch event on 17 August at its premises at Maydown Industrial Estate, 15A Carrakeel Drive.

Sales and Office Administrator Danielle McAllister said the company aims to help people regain independence at home and in the community.

She said many customers want to go to shops or visit graves by themselves, and the equipment is intended to support that.

Branch Manager Ted Lynch said the Maydown branch is the only service of its kind west of the River Bann. He said the company identified strong demand in the north west.

Lynch explained that installation typically involves an engineer measuring stairs, with most stairlifts fitted within a day or two. Curved staircases take longer.

The company said engineers are available around the clock for stairlift issues, and warranties range from six months to five years.
