A new stairlift and mobility showroom has opened in Maydown, Derry. The facility at 15A Carrakeel Drive, Maydown Industrial Estate, is operated by Stairlift Solutions.

Danielle McAllister, sales and office administrator at Stairlift Solutions, said the company aims to help people regain independence, whether that means getting back upstairs at home or being able to get out into the community independently.

The company said the showroom is the first dedicated facility of its type in the city. Ted Lynch, branch manager, said it is the only facility of its kind operating west of the Bann.

The showroom displays straight and curved stairlifts, rise-and-recline chairs, mobility scooters, and powered wheelchairs. Customers can view products, ask technical questions, and assess options before purchasing.

An engineer conducts initial staircase measurements. Straight stairlifts are typically installed within one to two days. Custom curved installations require additional lead time. The company provides 24-hour engineer support for stairlift maintenance. Product warranties are available from six months up to five years.
