A pipe bomb type device exploded at the front door of a house in the Sheskin Way area of east Belfast. The incident occurred around 11:25pm on Monday, March 2. A man and a woman were inside the property at the time but sustained no injuries.

The explosion caused damage to the door and windows of the house. Police officers and Army Technical Officers attended the scene. They removed several items for forensic examination.

Cordons remained in place overnight but were lifted afterwards. Detectives based at Musgrave Police Station are conducting the investigation.

Officers have issued an appeal for information. They seek reports of suspicious activity in the area. Witnesses with CCTV, doorbell camera or dash-cam footage are asked to assist.
