An event called Every Child Matters will take place at Carrickfergus Civic Centre on Saturday. Representatives from local agencies, support groups and specialist services will be present to answer questions and explain what help is available for families caring for children and young people.

Cheryl Brownlee, who is hosting the event, said the aim is to reduce the confusion parents and carers can experience when trying to navigate different services. She stated that financial support, practical assistance, local services and specialist help across East Antrim will all be covered.

Brownlee will also launch the Every Child Matters Handbook during the event. The handbook lists contact details for support agencies, local organisations and other useful services.

Local businesses contributed funding for the handbook. They include Gareth Mills Estate Agent, Foxy Tail Coffee and Laura Jessica Hair.

People planning to attend are asked to register in advance through Eventbrite. A quiet space will be available, and the civic centre has a museum and play area.
