Ann Monteith, a woman from Omagh who ran a jam business and worked at a local shop's hot food counter, has died.

Mrs Monteith, née Davis, of Deverney Road, died at Altnagelvin Hospital on Friday August 7, surrounded by her family.

She was known in the area through her work at the hot food counter in McBride's SPAR and through the jam business that supplied several local shops.

Peter McBride, who employed her at the shop, said she worked there for more than 21 years. He added that she continued working and making jam after receiving difficult medical news in March 2023.

Her funeral service was held at Drumnakilly Parish Church, with burial in the adjoining churchyard.

Mrs Monteith was the wife of Derek and mother of Daryl, Stacey (married to Nathan Fox) and Julie. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Elsie and a sister of Joy, Gordon and Blanche.
