Lurgan Man Jailed for Three Months After Stealing Two Bottles of Gaviscon
A Lurgan man has been sentenced to three months in prison for stealing two bottles of Gaviscon from a shop in the town.
Kevin Aaron Campbell, 31, of Union Street, pleaded guilty to a single charge of theft committed on 12 January 2025. The offence took place at a Supervalu store in Lurgan.
Campbell appeared via video link from Magilligan Prison before Craigavon Magistrates' Court on Friday. His barrister told the court that Campbell is currently on remand for other matters.
District Judge Michael Ranaghan imposed the three-month sentence and a £25 offender levy. He noted that shoplifting is a real burden on society.
