A car was seized by police after its driver was caught on Belfast’s Westlink without insurance or a valid driving licence.

Road policing officers from Mahon Road Station in Portadown stopped the vehicle during a patrol. Checks revealed the driver had no insurance.

Further enquiries showed the driver had served a two-year disqualification for drink-driving that ended in May but had not completed the required driving test to regain a licence.

The car was seized at the scene. To recover it, the owner must arrange for a person with a full driving licence and valid insurance to collect the vehicle and pay the associated recovery costs.

The driver will appear in court charged with driving without insurance and driving without a licence.
