Police Seize Vehicle in Belfast for Child Restraint Violation and Prohibition Breach
Police in Belfast seized a vehicle on Donegall Road during a road safety operation. The action followed checks that revealed the driver carried a child under 12 without the correct restraint. The vehicle remained under a prohibition notice from an earlier inspection.
The PSNI conducted the operation on Wednesday alongside the Driver and Vehicle Agency. Several vehicles received prohibition notices for dangerous conditions during the joint effort. The seized vehicle showed unrectified defects noted previously.
A PSNI officer stated that system checks and driver information confirmed the ongoing prohibition. The vehicle required seizure for further examination. The driver faces reports to the DVA and the Public Prosecution Service over multiple offences.
