Portadown man admits breaching sexual offences prevention order
Lee Sheffield, 47, of Tandragee Road in Portadown, pleaded guilty at Craigavon Magistrates Court to breaching a Sexual Offences Prevention Order. The incident occurred on January 29 at High Street in Portadown.
Court details stated that Sheffield deleted his internet history and accessed several social media sites. These actions went against restrictions in his order.
His solicitor, Philip Reid, asked for a pre-sentence report. Reid said Sheffield is working with the Probation Service and reported the breach himself during a meeting.
District Judge Michael Ranaghan called the breach serious, no matter the exact terms. He said the self-reporting would factor into sentencing.
Ranaghan ordered a pre-sentence report and put off the case to April 8. He told Sheffield to appear in court that day with a Probation officer. Failure to attend would probably lead to a prison term.
