A £225,000 carriageway resurfacing scheme will close the A32 Cornagrade Road in Enniskillen to through traffic from the end of July.

Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins confirmed the work will start on Friday 31 July 2026 on the section between the Queen Elizabeth Roundabout and Erne Drive. The project covers 460 metres of resurfacing and includes drainage improvements.

Kimmins said the investment would deliver better conditions for road users in Enniskillen and showed her commitment to upgrading the network that links businesses and communities. She thanked residents, local businesses and commuters for their patience while the work is carried out.

To allow the scheme to be delivered safely, the A32 Cornagrade Road will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the works. A signed diversion route will take traffic from the A32 Queen Elizabeth Roundabout along Queen Elizabeth Road, Belmore Street, Forthill Street, Irvinestown Road and Cherrymount Road, and the reverse. Local diversions will also operate for non-HGV traffic.

Emergency vehicles and residents will keep access at all times. The Department for Infrastructure has programmed operations to minimise disruption, but warned that some delays are likely. Drivers are advised to allow extra time near the works and to obey all temporary traffic restrictions.

If weather conditions are favourable, the project is expected to be substantially complete by Friday 14 August 2026. The Department said it will update the public of any changes.
