The Armoy Road Races, organised by the Armoy Motorcycle Road Racing Club (AMRRC), return this weekend with a strong international entry list for the north Antrim circuit. Racing begins with practice on Friday, and the main racing takes place on Saturday 25 July, culminating in the Bayview Hotel Race of Legends.

Nottingham rider Richard Cooper, who rides for Alastair Russell's team and has multiple British championship titles and North West 200 podiums, heads the entry. His team-mate Mike Browne, winner of last year's Race of Legends, is also confirmed. Isle of Man TT regular Conor Cummins brings extensive Mountain Course experience, alongside fellow Manx competitors Marcus Simpson and Joe Yeardsley, the latter fresh from a first Supersport victory at the Southern 100.

Irish road racing is represented by Michael Sweeney of Skerries, a consistent front-runner on Irish and Ulster circuits, and Derek McGee, a past Man of the Meeting on the Irish national scene who now rides for Burrows Engineering/RK Racing. Paul Jordan, the 2022 Armoy Man of the Meeting, returns after a successful period including joining the 130mph club at the TT and achieving Supertwin wins at the Southern 100.

The entry list also features Dominic Herbertson, a former Junior Classic TT winner, plus Sam West and Nathan Harrison, all experienced international road racers. William Munnis, Clerk of the Course, stated that the calibre of riders reflects the event's growing prestige. He noted that over 40 newcomers will take part, some races are oversubscribed, and the club will run additional B races to ensure track time for all entrants.

Trevor Kane, owner of the Bayview Hotel in Portballintrae and title sponsor since the event's inception in 2009, welcomed the exceptional field. Event programmes, including vehicle parking and access to vantage points, remain on sale at the Armoy office and online.

The Armoy Road Races have become a fixture in the Irish road racing calendar since their launch in 2009, drawing top competitors to the 3.0-mile public roads circuit.
