Tribunal dismisses sex discrimination and part-time working claims against Belfast Trust
An industrial tribunal has dismissed all claims brought by Rosemary Holmes against the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. The decision was delivered orally at the end of a three-day hearing in Belfast and later issued in writing.
Ms Holmes had alleged sex discrimination and less favourable treatment on the grounds of her part-time status. The tribunal heard evidence from 29 September to 1 October 2026 before Employment Judge Sturgeon and members Ms C Williamson and Mr J Doherty.
The claimant represented herself, while the respondent was represented by Mr Michael Quigley, instructed by Ms Karen Coyle of the Directorate of Legal Services.
The tribunal gave its judgment with reasons at the end of the hearing and confirmed that all claims were dismissed. The written judgment was issued to the parties on 8 October 2026 and will be entered in the register within 21 days.
