Justice Minister Responds to Ballymena Tragedy
Justice Minister Naomi Long has expressed shock at a tragedy in Ballymena and extended her sympathy to those affected.
In a statement issued by the Department of Justice, Ms Long said her thoughts were with the families and the wider community. She encouraged anyone who needed support to contact services provided by the Health and Social Care system and the voluntary and community sector.
The minister thanked police officers and first responders who attended the scene. She also asked that the families and friends involved be given privacy and respect.
Ms Long cautioned against speculation and commentary online while the Police Service of Northern Ireland continues its investigation.
