A teenager from Ballygawley has appeared in court charged with wounding a male. Jack Mallon, 18, attended Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday via video link from prison.

The charge relates to an incident on June 10. No details surrounding the allegation were given during the hearing.

The court was told that a medical assessment of Mallon is currently under way.

He was further remanded in custody and the case was adjourned to August 6.
