Larne man accused of assaults with hatchet and bottles sent for trial
A Larne man has been sent to the Crown Court accused of multiple assaults and possession of offensive weapons.
Damian Jay Hemy, 38, of Inver Garden Mews, is charged in connection with an incident on 28 September.
The charges include causing grievous bodily harm with intent to a male, assault occasioning actual bodily harm to a female, and possession of cannabis.
He also faces three counts of possessing offensive weapons: a hatchet, a bottle of Buckfast, and a bottle of Captain Morgan.
At Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday, the case was transferred to Antrim Crown Court.
A date for arraignment was set for 14 September.
Hemy was released on continuing bail until that hearing.
