Ten members of Murlough Athletics Club travelled to Rathlin Island on Saturday to compete in the first Rathlin Lighthouse Challenge.

The group, comprising nine women and one man, covered a 16-mile route that started and finished at Church Bay and passed three lighthouses: West, East and Rue.

Strong winds swept across the island but conditions were otherwise suitable for running. All ten runners completed the course.

Paula Earley secured a category win, while Ciara Laverty raised £300 for the Cancer Fund for Children.

Club members took photographs and video of the surroundings during the run but did not spot any puffins.
