A Derry-based recruitment firm plans to broaden its operations across the Northwest after building a presence in the hospitality sector.

Swift Shift Recruitment recently confirmed the appointment of Sean Doherty as Recruitment Manager to lead the push into industries including manufacturing, technology, engineering and professional services.

The business was founded by Christopher Shiels and Paul Leonard to address staffing shortages in hospitality following the pandemic. It has since maintained steady growth, according to its owners.

Doherty said the region holds a strong talent base and that part of the mission is to help people advance their careers without leaving the area.

He added that the firm’s local base gives it insight into both employer hurdles and candidate motivations, and noted regular contact with businesses that are expanding and investing.
