A Derry filmmaker has been recognised at a London awards ceremony for his independent film 'Hunting Party'. Danny Patrick directed the film, which took the prize for Best Independent Film at the event held in Porchester Hall.

The ceremony drew professionals from across the film industry, with major productions such as Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning also represented.

Patrick attended with actor Paul O'Doherty, who is also from Derry and appears in the film. Members of the cast, including Mark Wingett and O'Doherty, joined Patrick on stage to accept the award.

Upon hearing 'Hunting Party' announced as winner, Patrick described a mixture of relief and adrenaline. He said his emotions got the better of him during the acceptance speech, causing his voice to break as he thanked the cast and crew.

Patrick noted that the event fostered a sense of camaraderie among those present, all driven by a shared passion for cinema. The film is available on the Amazon Prime streaming service.
