A man required hospital treatment after a stabbing in Lisburn on Tuesday evening.

Police received a report at approximately 7.15pm that a man had been attacked multiple times in the Bridge Street area. Officers attended alongside paramedics from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

The injured man was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. His condition has not been disclosed.

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He was later released on bail pending further police enquiries.
