Foyle Maritime Festival 2026 Expected to Generate Significant Economic Boost for Derry
The Foyle Maritime Festival will return to Derry from Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 June 2026, with events centred on the city’s riverfront.
A key feature will be the LegenDerry Food Village at Coppins Quay, offering nearly 30 local food and drink traders. The Merchant Market at Thompsons Quay will combine international street food and handmade goods in a beach-style setting.
Organisers point to the 2024 festival as a benchmark: that event attracted 135,000 visitors and generated £7.7 million for the local economy, with a further £1.6 million in media value and over 3 million social media engagements.
Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Grace Uí Niallais, said the festival provides a platform for local traders and food businesses, helping to increase footfall and spending across the city.
Kerona Hasson, owner of Doganic Bakery, said she is delighted to return with her artisan dog treats, calling it a perfect opportunity to share her products with visitors.
The full festival programme will be published online at foylemaritime.com.
