Limavady Woman Among Finalists for Miss Universe Ireland 2026
A Limavady mother of two has been announced as a finalist for Miss Universe Ireland 2026.
Amy Doherty, aged 30, works as a social media manager and is a vocal advocate for autism inclusion and scoliosis awareness. She stated that her two sons are autistic, and that giving a TED Talk on autism acceptance was among the most significant experiences of her life.
She added that living with scoliosis while competing in pageants has strengthened her commitment to ensuring girls with the condition are seen and celebrated.
The announcement came on June 4 during the official Summer Launch Party for the competition, held at Bewley’s Café Theatre on Grafton Street in Dublin. The event included a drinks reception and brought together finalists, sponsors and media.
The winner of Miss Universe Ireland 2026 will represent Ireland at the Miss Universe global final, where delegates from more than 100 countries compete. The current national titleholder is Aadya Srivastava, 19, from Galway.
