Three 14-year-old girls have been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm after a teenager was attacked in Banbridge.

The incident occurred in the Solitude area of the town on Saturday 6 June.

Police announced the charges on Thursday morning. One of the youths was brought before Newry Magistrates’ Court the same day. The remaining two are scheduled to appear on Friday 3 July.

Under standard procedure, the Public Prosecution Service will review the charges.
