The Business Services Organisation has published a quarterly statistical report covering the prescribing of sodium valproate and topiramate in Northern Ireland, with figures through March 2026.

The publication merges two previously separate monitoring reports for these medicines into a single release. It sits within the General Pharmaceutical Services and Prescribing Statistics series.

An interactive dashboard has been launched for the first time alongside the tables, replacing the static charts that featured in earlier individual reports. Users can filter the data by medicine type, age group, gender and local area across five key indicators.

The monitoring is intended to support efforts to ensure the medicines are prescribed safely and appropriately.
