A 29-year-old man sustained a leg injury during an altercation on Gortgonis Road in Coalisland late on Tuesday night. Police were called to the scene shortly before 11pm and believe the incident involved a stabbing.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition is not described as life-threatening.

Police subsequently detained a 31-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman in connection with the incident. Both were questioned before being released on bail to allow for further enquiries to be carried out.

Officers say investigations into the circumstances of the altercation are ongoing.
