CAFRE Greenmount Campus in Antrim will open to the public on Saturday 13 June and Sunday 14 June 2026 for the Bank of Ireland Open Farm Weekend. Entry is free and gates are open from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The college says the event will provide families with a closer look at modern farming, food production, and rural careers. Activities include live sheep shearing demonstrations, tractor simulators, and milking a cow called Clover.

Visitors can see agriculture and horticulture exhibits, floral art displays, and join family-friendly activities in the Walled Garden. The farm-to-fork journey of food will be explained, and ice cream made at CAFRE’s Loughry Campus can be sampled.

Plants will be sold. Conservation groups including the RSPB and Ulster Beekeepers Association will attend. Picnics are welcome, although refreshments are available for purchase. Only assistance dogs on leads are allowed.

Prospective students and their families can meet academic staff, tour facilities, and learn about courses in agri-food, horticulture, equine, and land-based subjects. The event is targeted at those completing GCSEs or A-Levels.

The Open Farm Weekend is led by the Ulster Farmers’ Union, with title sponsorship from Bank of Ireland. Other sponsors include NFU Mutual, Asda, Dale Farm, Livestock & Meat Commission NI, Pilgrim’s Europe, Thompson’s, and the Irish Farmers Journal.
