Enniskillen RFC marks centenary with new history book
Enniskillen Rugby Club has published a 250-page book to mark 100 years since its formation in 1925.
The book traces rugby in the town back to 1874, when the first recorded match took place at Portora.
Written by club historian Brian Foster, the publication includes accounts from former players Roden Ward, Chris Johnston and Henry Keys.
It covers periods of growth in the 1950s and 1960s, expansion of underage rugby in the 1970s, and facility improvements at Mullaghmeen in the 1980s.
The book records a Canadian tour in 1983 and a two-week tour to North America in the early 2000s.
It notes the women's team's league title win in the 2015-16 season and the men's team's Towns Cup victory in April 2019.
Player Claire Boles is quoted on the club's values and motto Ut Proavi.
