Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has announced a £340,000 carriageway resurfacing scheme on the A6 Glenshane Road in Maghera.

The works will cover approximately 600 metres on the climbing lane section at Coolnasillagh Road.

The scheme is scheduled to begin on 1 June 2026 and is expected to finish by 13 June 2026, subject to weather conditions.

Two-way traffic will continue using a convoy system while a 40mph speed limit remains in force and overtaking is banned.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time for journeys and to follow temporary restrictions.

The Department for Infrastructure stated that operations have been arranged to reduce disruption where possible.
