Road resurfacing schemes announced for Dromara and Ballykelly
Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has announced two separate carriageway resurfacing schemes.
A £600,000 scheme will resurface 2.1 kilometres of the B7 Rathfriland Road in Dromara. Work will run from the junctions of Ballymackilreiny Road and Closkelt Road towards Dromara.
Daily weekday closures will apply from 09:00 to 17:00 until 12 June 2026. Traffic will be diverted via Moneyslane Road, Katesbridge Road, Castlevennon Road, Knockgrom Road, Gall Bog Road, Banbridge Road and Dromore Street.
A second scheme worth £177,000 will resurface 570 metres of Loughermore Road in Ballykelly. The section runs from the Clooney Road and Main Street junction towards Carnamuff Road.
Road closures on Loughermore Road will operate from 25 May to 5 June 2026 and again from 15 June to 19 June 2026, with a lane closure in place from 8 June to 12 June 2026. Traffic will be diverted via Glenhead Road, Baranailt Road and Carnamuff Road.
Both schemes are expected to be substantially complete by mid-June 2026, subject to weather conditions.
