Two Men Charged With Murder of East Belfast Man
Two men appeared at Belfast Magistrates' Court charged with the murder of 51-year-old Nicholas Gordon.
Nicholas Gordon died in hospital on 16 May after being attacked at his flat in an apartment complex on the Holywood Road in east Belfast.
Christopher Nobes, 31, and Andrew Matthews, 25, both of no fixed abode, face charges including murder, aggravated burglary and threats to kill.
Police told the court the men entered Gordon's flat on three occasions in the early hours of 12 May and assaulted him with a brush shaft.
Officers said they found Gordon conscious but badly injured at 8.24am on 12 May and took him to the Royal Victoria Hospital.
The court heard the men allegedly damaged a television in the flat and threatened witnesses before travelling to Scotland on 13 May under false names.
Both men were remanded in custody to appear again on 19 June.
