Murder inquiry opened after East Belfast death
Police have launched a murder inquiry after a man died in hospital from injuries sustained in an assault.
Nicholas Gordon died on Saturday. He was attacked on Tuesday morning at an apartment building in the Holywood Road area of East Belfast.
Two people were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary with intent to commit grievous bodily harm. They were later released on bail.
Detective Chief Inspector Duffie said police are examining the exact circumstances of the incident. Officers continue to seek others who may be involved.
A reporting portal has been opened for the public to share information. Anyone who was in the Holywood Road area between 4am and 8.30am on 12 May is asked to contact police.
Residents in the area will see continued police presence while the investigation continues. CCTV, mobile phone or dash cam footage can be submitted through the Major Incident Public Portal.
