A group of eight members from Armagh Amateur Boxing Club will abseil from the Europa Hotel in Belfast on June 7.

The participants include coaches Ryan Nugent, Eoin Smyth, Eoin McShane and Patrick Traynor, parents Natalie Moore and Martin McCormack, and two 15-year-old boxers Phoebe Clarke and Malachy Nugent.

Funds raised will support travel, accommodation and expenses for another group of eight boxers and coaches travelling to the Manchester Box Cup from June 19 to June 21.

The Manchester Box Cup features three experience-based categories, 0-7, 8-14 and 15-plus, which provide more suitable matchups for newer competitors.

Coaches and parents will accompany the boxers including Malachy Nugent, Phoebe Clarke, Liam Moore, Danny Traynor, Caoimhe Smyth, Feidhna-Rose O'Neill, Nathan McCormack and Kaylinn McShane.

The club has already received support from Toner Mechanical & Electrical, which helped purchase kit and fight vests.

Donations will cover flights, accommodation and travel costs to ensure the group can attend the event.
