NIFRS Opens Public Consultation on Equality and Disability Action Plans
Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service has launched a 12-week public consultation on its Equality Action Plan and Disability Action Plan for 2026-30.
The plans aim to promote fairness, remove barriers, and ensure access to fire and rescue services for all regardless of background or circumstances.
NIFRS seeks input from the public, especially individuals with lived experience of inequalities or disability, and those who support or advocate for them.
Feedback is invited on experiences accessing fire and rescue services and any barriers faced, methods to improve inclusion and accessibility, the plans' effectiveness, and relevant data or evidence.
The consultation runs until 7 August 2026. The questionnaire takes about 10 minutes and respondents may answer any or all questions.
Documents are available online at the NIFRS consultations page. Alternative formats or further discussion can be requested via email at consultation@nifrs.org, telephone at 028 9266 4221, or post to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Team, NIFRS Headquarters, 1 Seymour Street, Lisburn, BT27 4SX.
