Northern Ireland's Department of Justice has published draft Equality Action Plan and Disability Action Plan for public consultation.

The plans cover five years and meet statutory duties under Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998. They also address the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, as amended by Article 5 of the Disability Discrimination (Northern Ireland) Order 2006.

Consultation seeks input from individuals and organisations on proposals to advance equality of opportunity and good relations. Actions include fostering positive attitudes toward people with disabilities and increasing their involvement in public life.

The consultation period ends on Monday, 8 June 2026. Responses can be submitted via the Department of Justice website.
