A body was recovered from Lough Neagh during a search operation for a missing jet-skier. The incident took place near the Gawley's Gate and Bartins Bay area on the south-western shore.

Lough Neagh Rescue lifeboats were tasked by Belfast Coastguard at 1.28pm on Thursday to reports of a person in the water. The search involved crews from Lough Neagh Rescue, HM Coastguard assets, Rescue 116 helicopter from Bristow Helicopters, and the Lough Neagh Coastguard Rescue Team.

Police received a report at around 1.20pm of a person believed to be in the water in the Derryola Bridge Road area of Craigavon. Officers attended the scene with HM Coastguard. The public was asked to avoid the area and contact police on 101 quoting reference 802 with any information.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 13:39 for an incident in the Derryola Bridge Road area. An emergency ambulance, advanced paramedic response car, and Hazardous Area Response Team were dispatched. No patients were taken from the scene.

Lough Neagh Rescue thanked all agencies for their assistance. The jet-skier had left the Gawley's Gate area before going missing.
