Jestoni Tenio, a 27-year-old man from the Philippines, died following a workplace accident at Hutchinson Feeds on Ballygillen Road outside Cookstown. The incident occurred on Friday, April 17.

Tenio suffered a head injury at the factory, which produces agricultural livestock feed.

Staff from the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland attended the scene that day and are conducting enquiries.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland confirmed an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Hutchinson Feeds called Tenio a valuable worker and expressed sadness over his death. The company extended thoughts and prayers to his family.

A funeral service took place in Belfast on Thursday. Tenio's remains were then repatriated to the Philippines.

A friend who arrived in Northern Ireland with Tenio six months earlier six months prior described him as grateful for the work opportunity. The friend noted Tenio enjoyed working alongside other Filipinos and local staff.
