Standards Commissioner Suspends DUP Councillor for Hamas Remarks
Margaret Kelly, the local government standards commissioner for Northern Ireland, suspended DUP councillor Colin Kennedy for three months.
Kennedy represents Ards and North Down borough council.
The suspension followed Kennedy's statement that individuals who support the LGBTQIA agenda in the West also seek to defend Hamas.
Kelly ruled on the remarks, which Kennedy made publicly.
The commissioner holds authority to suspend councillors for breaches of conduct standards.
