Seven-Year-Old Derry Girl Raises £233 for Food Bank and Cancer Research
A seven-year-old girl in Derry named Ella Kavanagh Blair raised £232.90 for two charities by selling her toys from her front garden. The fundraiser took place over two weekends last Friday and beyond.
Ella selected Foyle Food Bank to support families and children. She also chose Cancer Research to honour her grandmother who died last month and another undergoing treatment.
Her mother Sarah described Ella as having a kind heart and always caring for others. Ella cleared out her toys with help from her friend Willow Hawthorne.
Ella's brother Harvey Blair assisted by making buns for a lemonade stand. They sold toys, buns and juice to neighbours.
Foyle Food Bank supplies emergency food and practical support in Derry. The funds will split evenly between the two charities.
